Senator Ted Cruz Endorses Amanda Adkins for Congress in KS-03

Overland Park, Kan. – Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today endorsed Amanda Adkins, Republican candidate for Congress in Kansas’ Third Congressional District.

“Amanda’s many years of leadership in business, and her lifelong commitment to helping others, is what the nation needs right now.” said Cruz. “I am confident Amanda will stand beside me in my fight against radical socialist agendas in Washington.”

The endorsement from Senator Cruz comes at a time when he has made clear he is choosing to support candidates who he believes will be true leaders in Congress.

“I am thrilled to have the support of Senator Cruz,” Adkins said. “Senator Cruz’s endorsement recognizes my commitment to the American people. As a reform minded, data-driven thought leader, I am committed to working for the people of Kansas. We must preserve the rights and liberties of families and focus on stimulating and growing the economy for businesses.”

Adkins is a long-time conservative, having been twice-elected as the Chair of the Kansas Republican Party. She is also the co-founder of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Excellence in Public Service Series which empowers Republican women in the areas of leadership, government and politics. Adkins worked as a business executive at a global Kansas City based healthcare and information technology company for 15 years.

Prior to that she served as Professional Staff on the U.S. House Rules Committee and advised on commerce issues in the US Senate. Adkins also founded the nonprofit organization, Systems of Care Initiative to make targeted investments in young children preparing them for school and the future workforce.

Adkins graduated from the University of Kansas and has lived in Overland Park for the past 17 years with her husband of 20 years, Jason, and their two children.
